8. MIRROR EFFECT - MARACHROME MC295 - screen printing thinner paint imitating mirror effects, chrome-like and metallic
- the
"
mirror effect "can only be achieved by printing on the inside of transparent substrates
- substrates: PMMA, polycarbonate (PC), PETA, prepared PET films, glass, PETG
- very resistant to fading and UV rays - blocking layers increase mechanical and chemical resistance, coated: LIG (PC and PMMA substrates) and P (glass, PETG, PETA, PMMA, PC substrates)
The phenomenon of the emission of light waves by some bodies - phosphors - caused by something else than warming them up to high temperature is called luminescence. PHOTOLUMINESCENCE is caused by absorption of electromagnetic radiation in the visible, ultraviolet or infrared range. The absorbed energy is then emitted in the form of light, generally of less energy than the energy of the excitation light. Because of the time duration we divide photoluminescence into: fluorescence (a phenomenon that lasts only during the action of the exciter) and phosphorescence (a phenomenon that continues for some time after the triggering factor has subsided).
MARAGLOW GW
Solvent based photoluminescent (fluorescent) paint, 1-component, low odor, matt, about different pigment properties and duration of afterglow.
There are three shades:
There are three shades:
GW 361 - yellow green, short lighting time, suitable as a color for printing: self-adhesive material or signs in the advertising industry
GW 760 - white green, long lighting time, conditionally suitable for pad printing
GW 761 - yellow green, long lighting time
GW 760 - white green, long lighting time, conditionally suitable for pad printing
GW 761 - yellow green, long lighting time
GW 760 and GW 761 have very good pigment properties and if they are properly processed can be used for the production of photoluminescent products in accordance with DIN 67510 (escape route marking, GW 760 and GW 761 include very good pigment properties). All the colors show an excitation maximum at 380-400 nm wavelength, in daylight and neon light, and are made without the use of phosphorus and lead & free from radioactive substances to protect the color of the glow against graying. The entire surface should be painted with LIP 910 suitable for the substrate: cardboard paper, hard PVC, PVC self-adhesive film, polystyrene PS, SAN, PMMA, polycarbonate PC, ABS.
10. THERMOCHROME PAINTSThey contain pigments that change
color under the influence of temperature; solvent-based or hardened by UV rays, used in screen printing and pad printing.
They react to an increase in temperature (the color fades or changes influenced by its height). The process of change begins before reaching the temperature limit and disappears completely a few degrees after exceeding it, e.g. blue color with a change temperature of 31 ° C begins to pale 3-5 ° C before reaching 31 ° C and it completely disappears at 35-36 ° C.

- with a reversible effect (the color returns to its original color after cooling), we distinguish three groups of these inks:
Group 1 - Black and Red on 15, 31 and 47° C and Magenta 31° C
Group 2 - other colors (except Turquoise and Sea Blue) at 8, 15, 27, 29, 31, 37 and 47 ° C
Group 3 - Turquoise and Sea Blue and all other temperatures
- with an irreversible effect (the color changes permanently, avoid exceeding the temperature of the change during the printing process); changes occur at the following standard temperatures: 60,75,80,90,100,120,160,170 ° C.
Thermochromic paints have rather poor light fastness, so it is not recommended to use them for outdoor advertising. They are commonly used in temperature sensors, battery consumption indicators, elements of testing instruments,
fuses, coatings for coffee mugs, thermostats for irons, paints and inks & coatings for kettles.
11. FLUORESCENT COLORS
The effect is commonly known as "neon". These inks (especially in screen printing) achieve very strong colors with extraordinary sharpness and brilliance (luminous impressions). Due to the poor coverage, optimal results can be achieved
on white substrates. Fluorescent colors show the relatively low stability of the pigments used when exposed to UV radiation.
MaraGloss GO
GO 320 Fluorescent Yellow
GO 323 Fluorescent Orange
GO 331 Fluorescent Red
GO 333 Fluorescent Pink
GO 364 Fluorescent Green
MaraGloss GO is solvent-based paint. The fluorescent effect can also be used in other types of solvent paints or as UV variant. The use of fluorescent colors is widespread on advertising materials, toys & sports articles.

12. HOT-STAMPING
Also called hot-stamping, hot-printing is a printing technique using hot-stamping foil and convex matrices made of thermally conductive material.
General description of the process:
1. Hot stamping foil:
- PET foil is a carrier layer
- separation layer
- varnish layer
- a layer of vacuum-sprayed aluminum
- adhesive layer
2. Matrices
The matrix is heated to approx. 100 ° C, after the matrix comes into contact with the PET film, the adhesive layer heats up, the glue activates in places corresponding to the drawing on the matrix.
Hot-Stamping Machines
Machines for the application of hot stamping foil are divided into 3 groups:
1. flat - efficiency about 6000-8000 sheets / h, very good embossing results, but difficulty in application large strands and small details
3. rotary - capacity up to 12,000 sheets / h, embossing results worse than in flat machines, very good foil transfer in sheets and details, high cost of the machine
Hot-stamping is used for refining print, decorating items, marking, and securing printing (holographic foils).

13. UV-ACTIVE
UV active pigments are colorless in daylight, but when exposed to UV light (black light) the color changes and shines brightly. The area of application of this effect is mainly product safety coding, e.g. in the pharmaceutical industry. The available range of raw materials allows you to change the color from transparent to yellow or blue depending on the order of your customer.
14. INTERFERENCE PAINTS
It's transparent varnishes that shimmer and shine with different colors depending on the angle of view. They come in various shades, from changing in two colors to change in a whole lot of colors like a chameleon. Used for refinement luxury packaging (including packaging for industry & pharmaceutical) as well as for protection documents.
The inks are mainly used as flexographic inks and screen printing. A thicker layer of varnish provides a better optical effect. Before use, the varnish should be thoroughly mixed because interference pigments tend to settle. For flexographic printing it is recommended to select an anilox in such a way as to obtain the greatest possible transfer of paint.
